الماءُ، هذا الصديقُ العابرُ للأمكنةِ،
الغريبُ الذي لا وطنَ له،
ينحني للريحِ، ينكسرُ في الضوءِ،
ينحسرُ عن اليابسةِ ثم يعودُ،
لا يُقيمُ في شكلٍ واحدٍ،
ولا يعرفُ معنى الثبات.

منهُ جئنا، وفيه نحيا،
لكننا مثلهُ، نبحثُ عن ملامحنا في الأشياءِ،
نرى أنفسنا فيه ولا نراها،
نلمسُه ولا نمسكه،
نشربهُ بلا طعمٍ،
كأننا نرتوي من الفراغ.

في الأرضِ يسيلُ بين الشقوقِ،
في البحرِ يعانقُ المدى،
وفي الهواءِ يتخفَّى في الغيمِ،
لكنَّه، رغم كلِّ هذا،
يبقى سرَّ البقاءِ الذي لا نُدركه،
والمعجزةَ التي تمرُّ بنا،
كأنها لا شيء.

Water, this friend that roams through places,
The stranger with no homeland,
Bows to the wind, breaks in the light,
Recedes from the land, then returns,
Never confined to one shape,
Unfamiliar with permanence.

From it we came, within it we live,
Yet, like it, we seek our reflections in things,
We see ourselves in it but do not see,
We touch it but cannot hold it,
We drink it without taste,
As if quenching our thirst from emptiness.

On earth, it flows through cracks,
In the sea, it embraces infinity,
In the air, it hides within the clouds,
Yet, despite all this,
It remains the secret of existence beyond our grasp,
A miracle passing through us,
As if it were nothing.
