تجري من المزنِ فوق الأرضِ أنهرُهُ
فيرتوي عذبَهُ دون العَنا البشــــــــرُ
والزرعُ والطيــرُ يُسقَى من جداولهِ
وينتشي طرباً من رِيِّــــــــهِ الشجرُ
ويكتسي غصنُهُ بالزهـــــــرِ في ألقٍ
فيُبهجُ الروحَ منهُ العطرُ والثمـــــــرُ
وتسعدُ الأرضُ حين القطْــرُ ينزلُهــا
من السماءِ وفي الوديانِ ينهمـــــــرُ
هو الحياةُ حياةُ الخلقِ لا جــــــــدلٌ
وسلْ تُجبْكَ بَوادي الناسِ والحضَـرُ
على الحِياضِ أقيمتْ للورَى أمـــــمٌ
لولا المياهُ على البنيانِ ما اقتــدروا
إنْ لم تكن نَهَراً يجري بأرضهِــــــــمُ
آبارَ سُقياهُمُ في ساحِها حفـــــــروا
وفي البحارِ لهم فُلْكٌ مســـــــــــيَّرةٌ
ساحَ العبادُ بها في البحرِ وانتشـروا
حتى إذا كُلِّلت بالكسبِ رحلتُهــــــم
مُسَخِّرَ البحرِ للركبانِ قــــــد شكروا
وأَنْعُمُ اللهِ لا حصــــــــــــــرٌ لِعدَّتِهــا
فلْيحفظِ الناسُ نعماهُ بما قَـــــدَروا
والماءُ إن لم نكن حفّاظَهُ نفــــــدت
مصادرُ الرِّيِّ بل واستفحلَ الخطــرُ
وصولةُ الحَرِّ لم تهدأ كوامنُهـــــــــــا
بكلِّ أرضٍ لها.. في غفلةٍ شـــــــــررُ
والكونُ منتظرٌ مَن يحفظـــــــون لهُ
ماءَ الحياةِ وقد لاحت لنا النُّـــــــذُرُ
يا ساكني الأرضِ صونوا ماءَ رِيِّكـمُ
لعلَّ في قادمٍ قد ينفعُ الحـــــــــــذرُ

From the clouds, its rivers flow over the earth,
Quenching mankind with its sweetness, without toil.
Plants and birds are nourished by its streams,
And trees rejoice in its watering, singing with joy.
Its branches are adorned with radiant flowers,
Delighting the soul with their fragrance and fruit.
The earth rejoices when the rain descends,
Pouring from the sky, cascading through the valleys.
It is life itself—the life of all creation, no doubt.
Ask, and the deserts and cities will testify.
Nations have risen by the shores of its basins;
Without water, no construction could stand firm.
If no river flowed across their lands,
They dug wells to draw its precious gift.
In the seas, their ships sail forth,
Roaming far and wide across the waters.
And when their journeys are crowned with gain,
They thank the seas that bore their voyages.
God’s blessings are beyond count or measure,
So let people preserve His grace as best they can.
If we do not guard it, water will dwindle,
Sources of life will dry, and danger will grow.
The fury of heat will not relent its flames,
Striking every land with its unnoticed sparks.
The universe awaits those who will protect
The waters of life, as warnings already loom.
O dwellers of the earth, safeguard your water!
Perhaps, in times to come, caution will serve you well.
